The best therapist for any kind of mental illness or depression is "pet animal".  Owning a pet animal helps you to give a positive view of your life. Over 71 million Americans are owing a pet and they also consider them as of among their family members. Growing a pet decreases our blood pressure and gives us the stamina to handle any stressful situations.  A pet owner comes under compulsion of going for a walk not for him, but for the pet. In this case knowingly or unknowingly he burns calories and diverts his attention to the pet, forgetting all the nonsense going on in his life for a while. Which in turn gives him space to rethink and deal with any awful situations.  Kids who grow up with a pet are free from anxiety and fear of meeting new people.
